About Dr. Parmelee


Warren E Parmelee, MD

 

Dr. Parmelee started Medic 1 in 1986.  At the time, it was the only urgent care facility in Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas. 

 

In 1958, Dr Parmelee received his masters in science from Loma Linda University.  His major was microbiology and his minor; biochemistry.  In 1964, Dr. Parmelee received his doctorate in medicine and began his career.  Prior to starting Medic 1, he had a private practice in the Northern Catskill Mountains of New York and was a contract physician for NASA.  He has worked all over the country as a Department of Emergency physician and as Chief of the Emergency Department in Chicago and here at Mary Washington Hospital.

 

He has written and published several articles and was consulting editor of the Toxicology Index, an international reference publication.  Dr. Parmelee speaks several different languages, including Mandarin.  He is board certified through the American Board of Emergency Medicine, National Board of Medical Examiners, American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and is a Certified Medical Review Officer.
